OUR STORY

OUR STUDIO

Shannon and Tom decided to start RWA after developing a close, collaborative relationship while working at ADG over several years.  They have a mutual desire of putting people and relationships at the forefront of the design process.  Empathy, collaboration and respect form the basis of our approach to architecture:  for building better communities and in regards to each other, our team, our clients and our partners in the construction industry.  We come to the table with open, curious minds and work through the design process with the team to find a shared, attainable vision for each project.

RWA is committed to providing thoughtful and creative solutions in architecture and interior design that are responsive to the unique needs of each project.  We are licensed to work in over 22 states and have over 40 years of combined experience in the profession.  RWA is a small boutique firm where clients have direct and meaningful communication with the firm's leadership.  RWA will continue to draw on its collaboration with ADG, the architecture and engineering firm where Tom and Shannon first met, in order to bring a greater range of knowledge and expertise than a small boutique firm can usually provide.  RWA is a woman-owned business located in the NoMad district of Manhattan.

I was always impressed with the speed with which plans were delivered and changes made. They were thorough, detail oriented, and extremely responsive.
— Lauren Henry

Shannon listened to all of our needs and designed around our lifestyle...she was also very respectful of our budget and gave us feedback on materials so we could make the appropriate trade-offs
— Megan Rarick

This was a great firm to work with for a nonprofit organization. Shannon, in particular has a great sense of style and functionality with helps to get materials that are affordable and long-lasting (and durable). Tom is a great problem solver and minimizes the impact hiccups have on the process. This firm is hands-on and there when you need them. They are easy to work with and get the job done.
