BRICKTOWN HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS

The Holiday Inn Express at Bricktown began, in concept, as an adaptive re-use of an existing dairy building in the heart of the historic Bricktown district. The design for the hotel complies with Intercontinental Group Hotel standards as well as the heightened design standards of the Bricktown Design Review process which mandated a brick facade.  The design for the building envelope draws inspiration from the surrounding brick warehouses as well as the former dairy building that will be demolished to make way for the hotel’s construction.  Within the building’s one-square-block area, designers were able to incorporate a 124-room, 16,700-square-foot hotel complete with guest suites, food service, meeting areas, fitness center and outdoor pool and recreation areas. The finishes and proportions of the final product express the quality of the Holiday Inn Express brand. Construction was completed in  January 2015.

ADG was hired to convert an aging brick retail strip into a sumptuous dining establishment.  Two adjoining brick buildings (formerly a shoe store and a tattoo parlor) were linked and expanded by 2,000 square feet to create a 7,000-square-foot restaurant and bar. An adjacent gas station was eliminated along with its underground tanks to make way for ample corner parking and patio dining.  The interior was completely rebuilt with space for a new commercial kitchen, dining area, bar, events room and toilets. Numerous windows were added as were skylights. Brick interior walls were sealed and left exposed. A new concrete floor was poured throughout the entire space.

Newcrest Image hired ADG to design two new hotels at the west end of the Steelyard project area in east Bricktown. The AC Hotel and Hyatt Bricktown will have a contemporary aesthetic while respecting the surrounding red brick warehouse district and complying with the strict design guidelines established by the Bricktown Design Review Board as well as the strict guidance of the Hilton Hotel brand standards.

Within a one-square-block area, designers were able to fit two five-story hotels—a 132-room AC Hotel complete with guestrooms, restaurants, meeting rooms and a fitness center as well as a 138 room, Hyatt Place Hotel that includes 138 guestrooms, meeting facilities, a buffet restaurant, fitness center and a pool.  The AC Hotel is wood frame construction with brick veneer, glass storefront and curtain wall systems, aluminum windows and composite metal panels. The Hyatt Place Hotel is in the design stages and will use modular construction. Construction began in spring 2016.
